Election Worker Application

The 2026 Whitby Municipal Election will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026. To support the election, nearly 300 people will be needed to work at voting locations during the Advance Voting period from October 22 and 25 and on Voting Day on October 26. Voting locations will be set up at local schools and community gathering places throughout the Town.

The hours of work for each day will be 8:30 a.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m. Election Officials will receive compensation of $350 for each election day that they work and will be required to attend a two hour training session in late September/early October. Compensation for the training session is included in the daily rate noted above.

Election Day: October 26, 2026

Advance Vote Days: October 22, 23, 24, and 25, 2026

Note: Applicants must complete a short knowledge quiz at the end of this application and will be required to attend an in-person interview. Interviews will be scheduled for dates in July and August.

Part VI Interview

Please note that completion of this application does not guarantee placement and you will be required to complete an in-person interview. If selected you will be contacted via the email address provided on this application.
Part VII Training 

If selected for a position, attendance at a Municipal Election Worker training session is mandatory. Training sessions will be in-person in late September/early October and successful applicants will be contacted to confirm placement in a training session. 
Please note that those who fail to attend a mandatory training session will not be permitted to work in the election and will not be paid.

Personal information collected on this form is collected under the authority of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 and is used to determine eligibility for Election Worker employment.
