Advance Vote Days: October 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, and 16, 2022

All applicants must complete this application and will be required to have a phone or video interview.

Position Descriptions:

Managing Officer - responsible for the pick-up of ballots, tabulators and accessories at City Hall the morning of any voting day (with the exception of Advance Voting Days),  supports voting location team with setting up, opening and closing the voting place, ensures that the proper administrative and legislative compliance of the voting place is maintained throughout the day, assist and fill in for other officers when required, at 8:00 p.m, after the last elector has voted, assist the Tabulator Officer in closing the voting tabulator and collecting necessary forms, complete voting place statement with Ballot Officers and Tabulator Officer and manage all closing procedures, return tabulators, ballots, laptops and other supplies to City Hall after voting place has been fully closed, act as the primary contact with staff in the City Clerk's Office on Election Day

Revision/Ballot Officer - check a voter's identification, use a laptop and scanner to look up voters in the voters' list database, strike them off the list and give them a ballot, assist voters who need to take oaths; look up, add or update a voter's information in the voters' list database, assist voters in completing forms and give them a ballot;

Tabulator Officer - set up the voter tabulator and ballot box, assist voters by feeding completed ballots through the tabulator, help troubleshoot any error messages on the tabulator, assist voters using the accessible voting equipment, close down the tabulator and prepare ballots for transfer at the end of the day;

Information Officer  - greets voters and assists with questions, opens doors and helps with access to the location, directs voters to the right staff person to help them vote, ensures no one is loitering or going into restricted areas of the voting location.

Rates of Pay

Managing Officer will be paid $400 for the day which includes a mandatory training session(s).

Revision/Ballot Officer will be paid $300 for the day which includes a mandatory training session.

Information Officer and Tabulator Officer positions will be paid $225 for the day which includes a mandatory training session.

In accordance with the City of Guelph’s employment practices, new employees are required to be fully vaccinated as a condition of hire, subject to accommodations required in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code.
