Application for Election Workers
Thank you for your interest in supporting the 2026 Election with the City of Kitchener! In 2022, it took over 500 workers to support the Election, and we would love to have you on the team.
Working the Election is fun! Here are the things you need to know before you apply.
Election workers must:
be 16 years of age and eligible to work in Canada
attend all required training prior to Voting Day on October 26, 2026
arrive at the voting location 1 hour prior to your scheduled shift, to help with set up
remain at your assigned polling location for the duration of your shift (up to 12 hours)
be comfortable following direction and performing repetitive tasks that require attention to detail
To be selected to work advance polls you must also be available to work on Election Day.
Some roles have preferred requirements specific to the position, such as access to a personal vehicle, being able to lift up to 40 lbs and sit or stand for extended periods of time. Please watch the videos below to learn more about the positions you can apply for and what to expect on Voting Day.
