Application for Election Workers

Thank you for your interest in supporting the 2022 Election with the City of Kitchener! In 2018, it took over 450 workers to support the Election, and we would love to have you on the team.

Working the Election is fun! Here are the things you need to know before you apply.

Election workers must:

be a Canadian citizen.
be 18 years of age or older by October 24, 2022.
attend all required training prior to Voting Day on October 24, 2022.
arrive at the voting location 1 hour before voting locations open at 10 a.m.
remain at your assigned polling location for the consecutive 12 hours of a shift.
be comfortable following direction to perform repetitive tasks that require attention to detail.

Some roles have preferred requirements unique to the position, such as access to a personal vehicle, being able to lift up to 40 lbs and sit or stand for extended periods of time. Please watch the videos below to learn more about the positions you can apply for and what to expect on Voting Day.
